Bridesmaid Speeches: How I Made Mine a Success
Hello there, it’s Edyta here.
If you are looking for a website that can help you to come up with bridesmaid speeches, than I’m glad that you’ve found this website, and I strongly suggest that you keep reading. It’s not easy to come up with good bridesmaid speeches on the spur of the moment. After all, the occasion is an important one, and if things don’t go well, people aren’t going to look at you too kindly.
Naturally, when I was asked to make a bridesmaid’s speech, I was worried. I looked around, I asked people for advice, did a few searches in the internet, and I was surprised at how little information and how little help was available.
So this is my story, with all the positives and the negatives, the ups and the downs, the things that worked and the things that didn’t work, and finally the one thing I found that really helped me to deliver a successful bridesmaid speech.

Of course
I tried a good many approaches to solving this problem. The first thing that I did was ask a relative to write the bridesmaid speech. I thought this would work well. He took a few days about it and finally he gave me a speech that in my opinion was far too dry.
He used long, big words that I could hardly pronounce and perhaps that my audience would hardly understand, and his style was so much without humor, without wit, without that connection to the audience that I think is essential. I felt that nobody over there would relate to the speech, and also that I couldn’t confidently deliver it.
So these were some of the problems that I faced when searching for bridesmaid speech ideas, and as I said earlier I did find a way to get around them, but we will come to that a little later in the article. And then after a lot of searching I came upon something that actually did work.
You see, I realized that I didn’t want somebody else to write my speech for me, that I didn’t want ready made bridesmaid speeches examples downloaded from the internet. What I wanted was someone with a little experience to guide me through writing my own bridesmaid speeches and to give me some tips about how to deliver it. And that’s exactly what I found:
I found someone to guide me through the entire process of writing good bridesmaid speeches, someone who showed me what a good speech should be like.

So what exactly did I like about this website’s approach to creating a good maid of honor speech? Well, first of all it showed me how to write a speech with sincerity, and yet with a certain style and flair. But best of all, the creator of the site is a professional speaker, someone I felt I could trust and rely upon to give me the best possible tips, to teach me how to face that audience with confidence.
So, was there something I didn’t like about this website’s bridesmaid wedding speech guide? If anything, I found that while the site guides you every step of the process, ultimately it’s you who has to write the speech. But this turned out to be a good thing too, because my own speech was a very personal creation, and instantly built a connection with my audience. This is something that I found invaluable in giving a speech.
Now the reason I’m writing all this is to help people who are in the same position that I was. Instead of stumbling your way through creating your maid of honor speech, you can have the answer at your fingertips and benefit from my experience.

Bridesmaid Wedding Speeches: 3 Points That Are Essential To Success
Now if you are going to give bridesmaid speeches anytime soon, you might be worried. Of course you are worried, and so was I when I first found out that I would have to give such a speech at my old friend’s wedding. I wasn’t certain about what I had to say, I wasn’t certain of my ability to express my thoughts sufficiently well, or at least well enough to captivate my audience. But most of all I didn’t want to be a disappointment to my best friend, I didn’t want to be a source of embarrassment at my friend’s wedding. So what are the most important things to remember when you give bridesmaid speeches?
1. Select a Theme.
Well, now I’m speaking from my own experience, but still what helped me could well help you. The first thing that important is to choose a theme for your bridesmaid wedding speech. This theme could be anything – this could be your best friend’s personality, or her loving nature, or her loyalty, or, if this is the case, your experience of your friend and her husband as a couple. Your theme could be any of these things, but once you decide on it, it will become the core of your maid of honor speech, and you can build up all sorts of things around this theme. If the theme is about your friend’s personality, then think of incidents in the past that illustrate that personality. If your theme is her loyalty, you can do the same. If it’s about your experience of your friend and her husband as a couple, then you can talk about how they first met, little incidents from their courtship, even how he proposed to her. As you can see, just by choosing a theme your speech is more or less building itself on its own. But most of all having a theme gives a continuity to your speech that your listeners can follow. It makes your speech one wonderful story, and this, more than anything else, what holds your audience’s interest.
2. Make a point.
Now the second thing you have to do is to have an object in making your speech. What are you trying to say? Are you trying to say that the couple will be happy together? Well, than you need to pick up an incident or a set of incidents through your speech that slowly build up to this point, and at the end of your speech you deliver this point. Now having this point to your wedding speech is what ultimately leaves an impression upon the people who are listening to you. Having a point, your speech gives them something they will remember may be for years to come, and indeed when you look at it that way, having a point is what ultimately will make your speech unforgettable.
3. Rehearsing.
People rehearse when they are trying to get up a play for the theater. Why do they do this? They do this because practice make it perfect. You need to rehearse your speech several times while alone, and then in the company of someone who will offer good advice, but who will not be overly critical. Getting some honest and sincere feedback on your maid of honor speech can help you improve your skills, add emphasis when needed, remove things that seems unnecessary in your speech, and all in all to perfect your speech well before the wedding.
These are just some of the things that you can do to make your maid of honor speech a success, but they worked very well for me. And so did the guide below.

Wedding Speech Dos And Don’ts
When I first realized that bridesmaids had to give bridesmaid speeches and that I was going to have to make one at my friend’s wedding, it was probably the scariest time of my entire life. I was afraid. And I am not ashamed to admit it – I was afraid to make a fool of myself. I was afraid of being unable to stand up and speak in front of that crowd at the wedding. But most of all I was afraid of somehow spoiling or marring my friend’s very special day. But there was no way around it – the speech had to be given, and I had to give it.
So in
my experience, what is the essence of good bridesmaid speeches? Well, first of all I would say honesty. Yes, I know, that might sound rather unoriginal, but the simple fact is that you must when you stand up to speak, you must speak from the heart. This, in my opinion, is all important. Don’t go in for high sounding phrases or colorful words, but instead speak simply and honestly, as you think and from your heart.
So, is there anything to avoid when writing a bridesmaid speech? Not much. As I said, be sincere, but also I think it’s very important to be kind, to be nice to people, to be gentle even with the truth. Try to place everyone in the best light possible, and most of all, don’t embarrass anyone. Especially, of course, not the bride and groom, but also not the family.
If there is anything else that I would advise you to avoid, I would say try to avoid referring to past relationships, whether of the bride or of the groom. This is not a day to be focusing on something like this, and it can create unpleasant emotions in the wedding party or in the family. I’ll end this little post with what I said in the beginning:
Be honest with your wedding speech, be sincere, be kind, and you just can’t go wrong.
Getting a Maid of Honor Toast Right – Just How To Go About Writing a Good Wedding Speech
For a lot of people giving bridesmaid speeches is a considerable challenge, but I recently gave a wonderful speech for my best friend’s wedding. I was the maid of honor, and of course I had to give a bridesmaid’s speech. Well, I did it, and I did it exceptionally well. And it’s not because I am a natural speaker or because I enjoy speaking in public, but because I had a little help.
Yes, with a little crucial help from the world wide web I wrote a wonderful wedding speech and delivered it exceptionally well. It’s true that I’ve been never known as a public speaker, so people were rather surprised when I delivered my thoughts and sentiments so well at my best friend’s wedding. But it’s all due to certain interesting tips and bridesmaid speech ideas that I learned from a very nice source that I found on the net and which I applied to my speech and which helped me to make that speech a great success.
I searched for help, I asked around, I did some research on bridesmaid speeches on the internet, and finally I did give that speech, and surprise of surprises it was rather good. So, how do you get started? Well, you sit down well before the wedding in some quite place with a pencil or a pen and a piece of paper, and you think. You think about the bride, you think about the groom, you think about the people involved, you think about happy times you had with your friend, you think about some touching incidents that happened perhaps years ago.
Think about how happy your friend will be on this special day, and then let all those thing swirl within your mind and turn them into words. You’ll create a bridesmaid speech that people will never forget.
Now of course, some people may not like this method, and there are much faster ways of writing a speech of this sort, but different things work for different people, and this is what worked for me.
Bridesmaid Speeches Can Be Easy
I thought giving bridesmaid speeches was hard, but I made one a few days ago, and it was a wonderful success. Very little of that credit is due to me, and most of it goes to some wonderful help that I had. Well, I’ll say a little more of that later, but for now I just want to say that it’s a popular misconception that a bridesmaid’s speech has to be too formal.
It doesn’t have to be that way, you can put in a bit of humor. Funny bridesmaid speeches are good. There is nothing like humor to build a rapport with your audience, you know. At the same time it seems to me that one should be a little careful about just how much humor one puts in. After all, you are not a comedian, you’re a bridesmaid, and you need to act like one. You need to be careful about the jokes you put into your maid of honor speech. Don’t offend anyone, and most of all that they don’t make the bridal couple feel uncomfortable. After all, it’s their day, not your day, and your speech needs to reflect that.
I believe that good maid of honor or bridesmaid speeches, are ones that are humorous, funny, that display wit, display a knowledge of the people involved, of the extended families, and yet at the same time is a speech that focuses on the married couple.
All in all, I would say that perhaps you could put in humor, perhaps you could put in a few good toasts, but most of all your wedding speech needs to be focused on the people involved, it needs to make them feel special. It needs to reflect a sincere desire for their happiness, and if you do that, I see no reason why your bridesmaid’s speech should not be a wonderful success.
